When asked “Who are you?” we reach for the nearest available label.
A role. A nationality. An occupation. A belief system. A sexuality. A diagnosis. We describe our family positions, our personality types, our tribal affiliations. Anything that locates us within a recognisable framework.
But what if these labels are merely a construct — a scaffolding we have erected around ourselves over a lifetime? What if they are not who we are, but what we have accumulated?
Strip them away. All of them. What remains?
You are THIS.
THIS is what is left when the constructed self falls away. It cannot be named, because every name is just another label. But it can be recognised. It is the stillness beneath the noise. The space in which thoughts arise. The awareness that watches without judging. The peace that does not depend on circumstances.
You are stillness.
You are space.
You are a deep inner knowing.
If you are willing to let go of the labels — even briefly — you may discover something of your true power. Your true essence. Perhaps even God.
Be still and know that I AM God.
Psalm 46:10
