Shifting Focus: from external goals and achievements
to the inner journey of walking with the Holy Spirit.
Five years ago, a profound shift occurred within me—the centre of gravity in my life moved to “the journey.”
The journey is a conscious walk with God the Holy Spirit as my active companion, guide, teacher, and helper. It’s a path characterized by heightened awareness and a deeper understanding gained through experience and participation. On this journey, I witness a coming together, a cohesion and acceleration of insight, knowledge, wisdom, and growth—all converging towards God, who is all in all.
With the journey taking centre stage, I can BE, be fulfilled, and function regardless of my geographical location or the circumstances presenting in the moment. I can allow being misunderstood, misrepresented and slandered whilst holding my peace.
While I still hold dreams, hopes, aspirations, plans, and intentions for myself and my loved ones, the journey itself is the powerhouse, the source, the secret place from which everything else flows. The journey is my frame of reference; the living word, the compass and the the key for decoding all the events and timings of my life and existence.
The journey is sacred. It is both miraculous and magical in its operation. It is profoundly real and undeniably powerful. It is holy ground. The mystery that is me/I; the decisions, choices, temperament etc can only be understood within the context of the journey.
Mystics and sages throughout the ages have said that when you finally arrive at the destination of your journey, you will discover you were always there from the beginning. Instinctively, I know this to be true.
