The unholy alliance of ego, body and mind makes us less than whole.
This alliance is self-referencing, self-informing, self-reinforcing. At its core, it is built upon and sustained by illusion, insecurity and fear. Left to itself, it cannot heal itself. It cannot see beyond itself. It can only run its own programme — which is always, ultimately, a programme of lack.
To restore balance, the unholy alliance has to be replaced by a holy one — spirit, body and mind, properly aligned.
This is wholeness. This is what the tradition called holiness — not moral perfection, but proper alignment. The spirit in its rightful place, leading. The mind in its rightful place, serving. The body at rest, no longer running the show.
God as Father is the perfect expression of this: complete, whole, with serenity, clarity and self-sufficiency. Nothing missing. Nothing reactive. Nothing borrowed from outside.
Our goal — while in the body — is to discover and inhabit a similar state.
Not by striving. The kingdom of God is nearer than we think. It is within. The shortcut is surrender. Not by power, not by might, but by Spirit.
Allow the work of God. Trust the process. Let Grace lead you beside the still waters.
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
