There is something calming, healing, inspiring and prophetic about the sights and sound of flowing water.

I find myself drawn to the river again and again. It flows fast and focused with purpose.

For me, some of the most beautiful allegories in the Jewish and Christian traditions use the imagery of a flowing river.

The books of Ezekiel (Jewish Torah) and Revelation (Christian Bible) talk of the river of life that flows from beneath the throne of and through the streets of the city of God, bringing life, nourishment and healing everywhere it flows and to all that it touches.
