There is nothing new under the sun.
Yet we are so easily seduced into believing that our problems are unique and insurmountable.
We become so easily caught up in the stories we tell ourselves.
Naively, we rely on the information from our physical senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
We lean into our knowledge, education, background and experience
as the foundational authorities in our lives.
Yet the truth is that any perspective based on all the above is at best limited,
illusionary or just outright false.
There is a bigger picture to what you currently see, perceive or experience.
Take a moment with me in your mind’s eye and float upwards beyond the clouds and into space. From that lofty point look back towards the earth; this globe spinning on its axis in seemingly empty space … suddenly your cares and worries don’t seem that credible.
Take a walk into nature and be in the moment; really take note of the trees, and all that is around you. Observe the blades of grass gently swaying in the breeze without a care, or the sparrow fluttering from tree branch to tree branch … suddenly you start to see that you will be OK too.
Start to disbelieve your drama, your stories and your default responses. For no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.
Father God of my beginnings, open the eyes of my heart that I may truly awaken and see; that I may truly live in the good of my purpose and destiny.
