Reality check

At some point in our journey, we encounter or are confronted with this reality check.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀.

For some it is a quiet nudge or a niggling question that refuses to go away – ‘surely there is more to it than this?!’

For others, it comes as a full blown, life altering ‘insight’ that stops them ‘dead in their tracks’ … for a short while.

Whichever route or manner this reality check comes, we each respond in different ways; and ‘how’ we respond determines the direction, intensity and flavour of the life lived thereafter.

Some may brush it away with a ‘𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵?’ and continue with the status quo. Others come to a ‘negotiated settlement’ or truce with this new insight; incorporating some religion, spirituality or philosophy into their ‘status quo’.

Some go much further; refocusing the direction of their lives to explore the meaning and implications of this reality check.
⠀
They embark on a journey back into God. A journey that may require they sell or give away all that they have ever known or had, in the quest to gain the prize.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. 𝘑𝘰𝘺𝘧𝘶𝘭, 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥.
